Dr. Marie Niechwiadowicz

Dr. Marie Niechwiadowicz (say Neck-vee-ah-do-vich or alternate Dok-tor Ma-ree) is a graduate of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine of Tempe, AZ.  She is a licensed primary care physician in the state of Arizona who focuses on functional medicine.  Dr. Marie has received additional training in prolotherapy from the prestigious Hackett Hemwall Foundation in Madison, WI.  She is experienced in treating every area of the body with both traditional prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Prolotherapy (PRP).  Her past experience as a yoga instructor, massage therapist, and a college athlete (basketball Boston College 1991) broaden her knowledge base of biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology.  She currently is a physician at a sports medicine facility where she treats professional athletes. 

Dr. Marie was the first naturopathic medical student to be certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) from the International EMDR Institute.  She currently is finishing an advanced degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.  She is also a Guest Assistant Instructor in Physical Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Tempe, AZ. 

Dr. Marie is a co-author of a retrospective cohort study on the use of physical medicine by Naturopathic Physicians.  She co-presented this research topic at the 2008 American Association of Naturopathic Physicians  (AANP) Conference. 

Dr. Marie is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association (AZNMA), and the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM).   

Dr. Marie believes the role of medicine is to optimize health whether the patient is a professional athlete looking to increase performance or a patient with chronic disease looking to improve quality of life.  She achieves this by providing personalized integrative healthcare to each patient. 

Dr. Marie currently lives downtown Phoenix where she enjoys the growing downtown arts scene.  She spends her free time improving her form and reducing her time for road races and trail runs as well as practicing yoga.
